About this artwork
The desert displayed in the shop window represents distance, as well as the phenomenon it embodies. It is therefore distant from us yet present. This perspective places us in the position of spectators. The desert spills out of the window, signifying that the phenomenon not only overflows, but it spills right up to us, becoming palpable, concrete. I present a perspective with this black and white shop window, showing a form of decay as a reminder…
of the consequences of this phenomenon.
