About this artwork
I find the Armadillos with their unique armored scales very fascinating creatures. They are mainly found in Central and South America. There are several types, such as a seven or nine band Armadillo. I used various natural substances that I added to the wax model to reflect textures, features and details of the Armadillo in the bronze statue. It was a real search for suitable materials. a walk through the woods with my dog. I managed to integrate these as long hair, peppercorns for the grainy skin (which was accompanied by a very pungent smell) and laces for the hinges in the armor.
