Dit bronzen beeld komt ook uit de serie "Vreemde vogels". De roerdomp kan zich verschuilen tussen het riet door zich lang uit te rekken en ziet er dan als een rietstengel uit. "Eagerley looking forward" staat deze roerdomp en heeft zich nog net niet helemaal in de lengte uitgerekt tot een echte rietstengel. Ik heb natuurlijke materialen zoals veren en wol in het wasmodel verwerkt. Daarna heb ik er een mal van gemaakt en is het beeld door de bronsgieterij… gegoten. Tijdens het *patineren. ( Het kleuren van het beeld gebeurt door zuren op het bronzen beeld aan te brengen en daarna in te branden. ) heb ik een toefje blauw op de kop toegevoegd en ingebrand.
