“Composition Blue Orange” is a multi-layered textile work in which movement, structure and color combine to form a vibrant whole.
Fine, transparent layers of fabric overlap with hand-embroidered lines, knots, and custom-developed materials. The composition resembles an organic network stretching across the canvas – a space between dissolution and density, between lightness and structure.
The color contrasts of cool blues and grays with warm orange… accents create a subtle tension. Individual embroidered elements stand out, while others disappear into the fabric, creating a multi-layered depth effect.
The work moves between textile art, drawing, and relief. Up close, the tactile quality of the materials is revealed; from a distance, a calm, abstracted pictorial landscape emerges.
Anke Pradel-Schönknecht uses textile materials as well as painting, collage, and mixed media – her creative path led her from classical painting through studies in textile and surface design to experimental textile art. With sophisticated techniques such as dyeing, printing, sewing, and layering diverse materials, she creates three-dimensional relief images and art quilts that combine tactile and visual stimuli. Her artworks convey curiosity, sensuality, and a captivating depth; they invite viewers to understand structures not only visually but also emotionally.
