About this artwork
This picture was inspired by the lines of the poem "Sometimes the sky opens up / reveals its secret".
Painting a sky is like playing with colors. With complete freedom and imagination, one can create formations that resemble an ever-changing cloudscape. It is pure joy in the beauty of painting.
Novalis, the Romantic poet, said: “There is certainly something mysterious in the clouds… and a certain amount of cloud cover often has a wonderful influence… on us. They draw us in and want to pull us away with their cool shadow.”
Anne Hefer works as a painter and draftswoman, using bold colors and impulsive work on canvas in her artistic practice, drawing strong inspiration from nature and memories. Her technique is characterized by the experimental use of palette knives and broad brushes; forms emerge intuitively, usually as abstract landscapes or faces, formed through spontaneous interventions and random processes. Her works reflect a deep emotional tension—between longing, transience, and the dreamlike, transforming reality into vision and fiction.
