About this artwork
In my watercolor "Winter Forest," I depict a tranquil woodland landscape, bathed in muted light and soft snow shadows. The snow illuminates the scene while simultaneously dampening any movement, creating an atmosphere of peace, clarity, and inner reflection. My focus is not on individual trees, but on the space between them—on depth, light, and the subtle resonance of the forest.
The original watercolor is aimed at collectors who appreciate contemporary… landscape watercolors, winter forest motifs and a reduced, atmospheric impressionistic visual language.
All my paintings are done on the finest cotton paper from the traditional brand Arches. This paper is 640gsm and painted with the highest quality paints from Daniel Smith and Windsor & Newton.
The painting is currently not for sale as it is part of an exhibition in Italy. However, it can be reserved.
Annett Coumont is a contemporary watercolor artist who lives and works near Cologne, Germany. Using high-quality watercolors on cotton paper from the renowned brand Arches, she creates evocative paintings that explore light, stillness, and the emotional impact of nature.
A self-taught artist influenced by international watercolor masters, Coumont has developed a distinctive visual language that combines naturalistic observation with impressionistic light and a contemporary, biophilic aesthetic. Her work focuses primarily on natural landscapes, capturing fleeting moments when light and atmosphere shape our perception of the world.
Her paintings are intended for collectors who seek tranquility, authenticity, and a deeper connection to nature in their living spaces. Coumont's works are regularly selected by international juries for watercolor exhibitions worldwide and are held in private collections.
