About this artwork
Mountain ranges are among my favourite sights. Their majesty rises across the horizon and reminds me of how magnificent powerful nature is. Rocks literally thrusted from the ground over millennia. The shifting earth is incredible to consider, the forces required and the constant movement beneath our feet.
Then there are the shapes, shadows and play of light that these natural structures have on the surface that we see. It is beautiful to behold… and hard to capture the ‘moment’.

Attila Vencel is an artist based in Czechia whose works endeavor to capture "the game of light and shadow", as well as fleeting moments and moods. He describes one of the most important aspects of his artistic practice as imbuing his art with both poetry and lyricism. In his impressionist influenced pieces, the central themes are landscapes, nature, and florals. However, in Vencel's abstract compositions he explores geometry and structure. He creates using oils on canvas.
