About this artwork
Silver Stream is an attempt to look within myself and understand what I am made of. Which colors prevail, which remain hidden beneath the surface, which contradict one another, and which unexpectedly find harmony.
It is a kind of self-portrait without familiar outlines. Instead of a face, there is an interplay of colors; instead of recognizable features, there is movement, texture, and intuition. An attempt to explore my own nature through color,… without trying to give it a definite form.
The painting incorporates metallic silver paint and special pigments that interact with light. Its colors, reflections, and textures shift dramatically depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions, revealing new nuances with every change of perspective. As a result, the artwork never looks quite the same twice.

Born in an artistic family, Varvara Efimova merges her 13-year academic training in fine arts with contemporary stylistic elements. Employing personal mixed techniques that include delicate transparency and thick expressive layers of oil paint, her works appear as visual poetry, infusing unexpected color combinations and emphasizing the atmosphere over imagery. Through her exploration of emotional states and metaphoric usage of nature, Efimova beautifully captures the subtle tension between vulnerability and strength.
