About this artwork
This artwork melds organic and abstract elements in a joyous visual harmony. A richly variegated botanical form sits amidst a dynamic patchwork of torn paper, bold geometric shapes, and graphic accents in greens, pinks, and soft neutrals. The interplay of vivid mint and forest greens with warm blush tones and playful pops of patterned detail embodies a spirited, uplifting sensibility – an aesthetic that typifies Serbutt’s mixed-media collages.

Credentials
- Works on commission
Ben Serbutt, trained in graphic and editorial design, crafts evocative hand-cut paper collages drawing from printed ephemera, botanical illustrations, geometry, and typographic fragments. His technique is resolutely analogue, layering elements intimately tethered to the rhythms of daily, domestic life, and allowing torn edges and happy accidents to guide composition. His works hum with tension and negotiation between organic and technological worlds, celebrating resistance to perfection and the value of creative friction. Serbutt’s art tenderly conveys the bittersweet complexity of modern existence, urging viewers to honor slowness, imperfection, and the irreducible messiness of being human.
