About this artwork
In June, the artist explores the vibrant yet serene essence of leisurely summer days through minimalist figurative language. The striking red background symbolizes the intensity of sunlight and warmth, while scattered figures engage in relaxed, mundane activities, highlighting the glowing intimacy of shared moments. The use of acrylic allows for bold, lasting colors, reflecting the endless possibilities of simple joys. Balancing figurative and narrative… realism, this composition invites personal interpretations and evokes a sense of warmth and communal happiness.
Bogdan Shiptenko is a contemporary Ukrainian artist born in 1994 in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. He works primarily with watercolor, acrylic, and graphic media, focusing on figurative painting and urban themes. He holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and has over 15 years of professional artistic practice, with more than 10 years of international sales.
Shiptenko’s work explores the relationship between people and the urban environment — architecture, streets, cafés, and the everyday rhythm of city life. His distinctive style combines expressive watercolor and dynamic multi-figure compositions, capturing both the energy of crowds and moments of quiet solitude.
A central part of his practice is the long-term series People on the White, which reflects on contemporary urban society, human routines and overconsumption set against minimalist white backgrounds. Bogdan Shiptenko has participated in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, his works are held in private collections worldwide.
