About this artwork
In the narrow canals of Venice, where waterways have shaped life for centuries and countless photographs have been taken, the ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) technique opens up a new, personal perspective on the city. Instead of architectural precision, this black-and-white image shows Venice as a fluid memory: a narrow canal, a gliding gondola, and the figure of a gondolier appear only as suggestions—embedded in movement and light.
Through deliberate… camera movement, clear contours dissolve and merge into abstract lines that oscillate between reality and emotion. The reduced color palette enhances the graphic effect of the subject: contrasts of light and dark guide the eye through the image space and create a calm, almost meditative atmosphere.
I collaborate with the renowned photo lab Whitewall for printing my artwork. Printing materials and size can be customized to your specifications.
