About this artwork
“Cordis Sanguis” is a work in which painting and sculpture merge. The anatomical heart, which I form as a three-dimensional sculpture and integrate into the canvas, becomes the pulsating center of the image.
The red, organic currents that unfold from it represent the blood – but also the essence of the soul. Everything that animates, protects, and transforms us.
This work tells of a moment of inner clarity. A moment in which the heart begins to… release all heaviness – pain, old patterns, foreign energies – and makes room for light, expansiveness, and a new inner flow.
With “Cordis Sanguis”, I want to show how powerful the heart is when it renews itself: raw, vulnerable, and yet infinitely alive. For me, it is a symbol that healing always comes from within, from a courageous, open heart.
