About this artwork
Le murmure des particules presents an energy field composed of countless fine particles. These tiny fragments vibrate and drift across the picture plane, as if a faint voice were unfolding between light and memory. The colors—primarily interwoven shades of red, pink, and violet—are not separated by defined boundaries. Instead, they emerge gradually through layered transparencies, resembling the blurred contours of an emotion still taking shape. These… color fields drift gently, like signals rising from deep within the body or faint breaths dissipating in space, creating an ambiguous vibration situated between the internal and the external. The work takes the “point” as its smallest unit, viewing the formation of the image as a process expanding from particles to lines, and from lines to surfaces. These particles do not line up passively; they seem to attract and gather, spontaneously generating forms through shifts in density.....
Chien-Li Chen, a painter and visual artist trained at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Toulouse, works across painting and visual symbolism to explore time, memory, and perception. He builds his mesmerizing compositions from layered geometric forms, symbolic codes, and typographic motifs; transparent strata, vibrant colors, and the grammar of breathing infuse his kaleidoscopic, multi-temporal structures. His technique evokes feelings of vertigo and poetic suspension, immersing viewers in a living, ever-becoming field where memory is repaired and time is felt as both rhythm and presence.
