About this artwork
<Starfall> unfolds from subtle shadows of dust, drifting, falling, and settling. The blue-violet tones create a silent depth, allowing the gaze to remain at the boundary where perception and memory meet.
An oblique form slowly gathers in the lower right, quiet and stable. Fine traces gradually come together; between each point, distance and breath remain. Layers of color overlap, while light and shadow gently emerge and flow.
Deep violet sinks… into darkness, like a chaos before recognition. Pink, gray-white, and pale green points of color float in the dark, dissolve, and gather again, creating a tension between disappearance and emergence.
Time settles, and memory surfaces within the traces. They move closer, overlap, and gather, returning and repairing within an invisible flow.

Chien-Li Chen, a painter and visual artist trained at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Toulouse, works across painting and visual symbolism to explore time, memory, and perception. He builds his mesmerizing compositions from layered geometric forms, symbolic codes, and typographic motifs; transparent strata, vibrant colors, and the grammar of breathing infuse his kaleidoscopic, multi-temporal structures. His technique evokes feelings of vertigo and poetic suspension, immersing viewers in a living, ever-becoming field where memory is repaired and time is felt as both rhythm and presence.
