About this artwork
Courage and overconfidence are closely related. Is overconfidence excessive courage? What might that look like? Perhaps self-empowerment? As a child, I often heard: Overconfidence is rarely a good thing! Girls, especially, shouldn't be too overconfident.
The Austrian painter Maria Lassnig was clearly a courageous woman and artist.
In this collage, different time periods, painters, and subjects meet, which I playfully connect. The inner world becomes… the outer world.
The vibrant colors and collage elements combine to create a powerful metaphor about the soul and life. It radiates a dynamic energy that fills your spaces with depth, excitement, and curiosity—a powerful interplay of pop art and metaphysics that invites reflection and emotion.
The background is cardboard painted with acrylic paint.
For the collages I use pictures from newspapers and magazines as well as excerpts from my own acrylic paintings.
