About this artwork
The afternoon sun gives the red fruits of the apple tree a seductive golden shimmer. In the partial shade, with her back leaning against the thick trunk, Eva sits comfortably on a soft moss cushion and sleepily looks at the idyllic surroundings.
Sounds reach her ears from a distance.
"Hello Eva, you look almost as tempting as the crisp apples!" are Adam's words of greeting. "Have you been philosophizing with the snake again?" Eva replies with a… grin.
I want to break the myth of Eve as a seductress. Eve is a clever woman, she curbs Adam's impatience and together they do not allow themselves to be driven out of paradise, but leave voluntarily when the time is right.
It is a dialogue with nature and intellect/ man and woman/ science and spirituality
