About this artwork
This painting is the fourth in the Touched series. The series explores alienation from myself, through rupture and pain, to self-discovery and freedom.
With the return to one's own awareness, the repressed also returns. Pain that has long lain in the shadows erupts – raw, untamed, inescapable. The inner chaos reminds us why alienation was once a protection. But only in enduring this pain lies the possibility of moving on.
