About this artwork
LI 05 is a monoprint created with ink and acrylic, inspired by the traditional Gyotaku technique but approached in a more expressive, contemporary way. I focused on texture, contrast, and the richness of deep red tones to bring out the structure and beauty of the fish. The fine details of the fins and scales, combined with bold areas of pigment, create a balance between precision and spontaneity. It’s a direct, physical impression—both raw and refined.
