About this artwork
When I carved these vertical bands into wood, I was thinking about how we perceive infinity through fragments - the way telescopes slice starlight into data, how consciousness organizes cosmic vastness into comprehensible rhythms. Working with wood print as foundation and enhancing with ink and acrylic, I create a portal-like image where vertical striations of varying widths radiate from a luminous center. The piece operates as both minimalist composition and cosmic meditation - the circular boundary acting as lens or aperture that focuses our perception on what might be aurora patterns, spectral analysis, or the visual music of pulsar signals.
