Broken Desert 5 presents a dense, fractured surface reminiscent of parched earth seen from above. Deep earthy browns, rust tones, and muted greys dominate the composition, intersected by fine cracks and ruptures that spread across the surface like dried soil shaped by heat, time, and erosion. Subtle highlights and mineral-like textures create a quiet tension between matte and reflective areas.
The relief-like structure suggests geological formations… and compressed layers of sediment, evoking slow, continuous processes of transformation. Traces of underlying layers from the recycled canvas remain visible, introducing a temporal dimension comparable to geological strata in which memory and change are embedded.
