About this artwork
This mixed-media painting is inspired by the natural patterns found in salt deserts and reflects my fascination with the mysterious formation of honeycomb-like structures created by the slow movement of saline groundwater. Standing in such a landscape must be both captivating and unsettling—an experience where stillness and power coexist. You feel the immense force of nature shaping the earth—invisible yet ever-present. The surface appears dry and…
fragile, but beneath it, water pushes upward, carving invisible paths through salt and rock. I avoided mirror-like surfaces, remaining true to my Desert series. With strong textures and earthy tones, I opted for an emotional landscape that expresses this duality—the contrast between the harsh stillness of the desert and the powerful, life-giving element flowing beneath it.
