About this artwork

In this painting, I captured a peaceful mountain landscape with wildflowers, rocks, and snow-covered peaks. I was inspired by the strong beauty of high mountains and the soft colours of nature. The green hills and sharp cliffs meet in the middle, where a river flows through the valley. The sky is overcast, with clouds slowly moving across the mountains, and there's a light wind in the air. You can feel that rain is about to come, adding a sense of… anticipation to the scene.

I used oil paint to show the rich textures of the landscape—sharp rocks, soft grass, and light in the sky. Small flowers in the front add life and colour. The clouds over the tall mountains create a feeling of calm and freedom. I wanted to show the contrast between wild nature and gentle beauty.

This work is about connection with a nature.

Emil Kasymov is an artist based in Kyrgyzstan whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Denmark. He believes that art cannot exist without meaning and that each composition is imbued with an aura that one feels instead of sees. Often creating a painting, Kasymov will sometimes spend up to three days in nature to fully "hear and feel" before beginning a piece.
