A suspended moment in everyday life.
The inspiration came after reading a book about Vermeer. The desire to build light through glazing.
The composition swirls around the wrist and unfolds diagonally, from gesture to object, guiding the gaze and creating a silent tension.
Deep reds contrast with cooler, more diffuse tones, opening a passage from the body to the interior.
Between vibrant matter and transparency, the light calls the character… outwards; but he remains held back, as if locked in his task and his inner reflection.
