About this artwork
In this café scene, I paint those Italian mornings where one sits for a few moments in the heart of life. Silhouettes appear and then dissolve into the light of the place. The painting progresses with free and visible strokes, letting the colors vibrate and respond to one another.
Everyday objects—cups, glasses, tables—become anchors in the bustle of the café. Around them, more open spaces, almost suspended in time, create moments of respite. These… voids are not absences: they become mental spaces, places where the gaze can wander and where time seems to slow down.
Between animation and silence, the scene seeks to capture this discreet poetry of ordinary life, when the world continues to pass by… and we simply stop to look.
