Common Sense Novelty – a company of this name operated in Chicago, making cardboard advertising. It closed in the 50s, but a beautiful building with Common Sense Novelty carved over the main door, still exists. I loved walking by it and wishing that I had thought of a name like that. It is so rich. This is my interpretation of what a common sense novelty company could offer.
It is cast in Hydrostone and Painted with gesso, gouache, pigment,… casein and wax.
