About this artwork
VARIATION ON ELLEN - Enamel and varnish on rigid panel 40x30 cm.
Abstract painting in a figurative context.
This aggressive face is part of my collection inspired by the woman who smokes, and the sensual pose that only she knows or can assume. The "cigarette portrait" pushes me to seek out unusual poses of smokers. For this reason, I put together a colorful group of smokers, all belonging to the same club. All searching for their own identity.… Indeed, the faces portrayed display expressions that are sometimes thoughtful, sometimes angry, but always captivating.
Authentic work made by me in a single copy.
