About this artwork
At the Mamoudzou spice market, the air is thick with smells and whispers. Sitting in the shade of a stall, a woman sorts seeds into a large aluminum tray. Her gesture is precise, almost ritualistic.
Her face escapes me, hidden by a bright scarf that contrasts with the hushed atmosphere around her. This deliberate withdrawal catches my eye. Here, presence is read in the posture, in the hands, in the silence.
I capture those moments when we pass… by others without really seeing them, when anonymity becomes intimacy. Behind each erased silhouette hides a story that we guess more than we know.

I photograph the moment when one chooses to appear... or to withdraw. My practice explores the boundary between visibility and discretion in public space through simple gestures: a hand that rises, a back that turns away, a motionless presence in the middle of the flow.
I compose with light, lines and voids to guide the gaze, then I leave a part open so that each person can invent their own story.
My works belong to the series "The Invisible Within Sight," a black and white and color exploration of the micro-gestures that determine what we reveal or conceal from the gaze of others. Limited edition pigment prints, signed and numbered.
