About this artwork

The painting Aging was created using a mixed media technique. First the picture ground, a wooden plate, was modeled with thin paper and paste. Here, a lively picture ground full of folds, with a textile appearance and a haptically exciting surface was designed. The folds of the paper, in turn, create an interplay of light and shadow that allows the image to appear again and again from every angle and under different lighting conditions.
