The New Scream is a zoomorphic, bird-like bronze sculpture set low on a rectangular plinth of aged, rusted iron. The creature has a rounded, compact body with a smooth, worn surface and irregular patina—deep brown and black tones broken by warmer gold and occasional greenish oxidation.
Its head extends forward into a wide, open beak, showing sharp, tooth-like ridges inside, as if frozen mid-cry. A small drilled eye punctuates the profile. Along… the back, several thick, fin-shaped forms rise like folded feathers. The front ends in a single paw-like limb with blunt toes resting on the metal base, emphasizing the tension between weight, grip, and movement.
Endriekus, with a background in Sculpture from Vilnius Academy of Arts, utilizes concrete and bronze. His meticulous creation of figurative sculptures channels ancient mythology, capturing humanity and their animal counterparts. Through the use of longstanding archetypes, Endriekus portrays existential themes addressing life's evolution and humanity's dawn – the unfathomable crossover into consciousness. His work is a contemplative musing on the nature of existence, its revealed miracle stirring deep-felt wonderment.
