This drawing is also part of my series on broken faces. Here, I wanted to capture the visual and emotional impact of a marked face, transformed by injuries. The bright black that bursts from the mouth symbolizes an inner suffering that cannot be expressed in words. The face is sketched with fragmented lines, as if to reflect a broken identity, barely recognizable, struggling to maintain a form of humanity.
In this series, I seek to convey not only… the physical pain, but also the psychological ordeal that these men have gone through. Each stroke, each burst of ink, evokes a part of this journey of reconstruction. The character's gaze, both distant and piercing, invites the viewer to feel the depth of this struggle for self-acceptance in a body that has become foreign.
This drawing is a tribute to these survivors who had to reinvent themselves despite indelible marks, both visible and invisible.
