In this drawing, I wanted to capture the inner cry of these men, a cry that transcends physical pain and expresses an inner struggle, that of accepting a face transformed by horror.
The features are deliberately blurred, almost ghostly, to symbolize the fragmented, barely recognizable identity. The black splash that seems to emerge from the mouth embodies the intensity of the emotion, as if everything that is held back ends up exploding. This cry… is a metaphor for the struggle to find a form of humanity, despite the visible stigmata.
Through this drawing, I want the viewer to feel the strength of these men, but also their fragility, and to be able to connect with this silent but powerful pain, present in the story of the broken faces.
