About this artwork
"They" is a figurative painting on a medium-sized vintage Persian rug that I acquired from a 90-year-old artist in Berlin. It depicts a non-binary person I photographed in my studio. The work emphasizes the vulnerability of the individual and the importance of being allowed to be different.
