About this artwork
Silent Presence arises from a moment of silence and density.
The surface is compact, like a continuous blanket of snow covering everything underneath.
It feels warm and icy at the same time, perceptible, tactile, but still without traces or action.
The image is in a state of suspension: the energy is not visible, but materially present.
I am interested in that moment between presence and incompleteness – where materiality and perception merge.
Ingeborg Ludwig, with a solid background in art, primarily uses encaustic, a hot wax technique, and acrylic painting. Her style is process-oriented, abstract, and strongly material-based, characterized by calming organic forms, seamless transitions, and multi-layered surfaces. Her artworks explore the invisible world of emotions and inner landscapes, inviting the viewer on an introspective journey to free themselves from the hustle and bustle of the external world. She addresses realms of change and resonance in a quiet, intuitive way to convey deep, moving emotional states.
