About this artwork
In this triptych, I explore the moment of departure ("updraft") as an energetic process of energy and transformation. The series utilizes the tension between the tactile depth of the encaustic painting and the cool reflection of the metal to make material, light, and movement tangible.
• Rooted Tension (Links): Here the energy is still bound. Dark accents and dense structures create a noticeable, inner tension.
• Rising Core (center): The energy… breaks through. The warm yellow dominates the center and represents the moment of opening and ascension.
• Unfolding Force (right): The energy continues to unfold. Forms dissolve, flow across the metal, and transition into a free, luminous movement.
