About this artwork
This work is part of my series Updraft – Metallic Conversation.
Here I work with encaustic on a metal plate, using the flowing properties of wax, pigments and heat to make spontaneous movements visible.
I am interested in the moment when heaviness dissolves and something new begins to move. Bright, translucent layers meet darker, denser areas, creating a silent dialogue between density and lightness.
The metal surface reflects light in a subtle… way, becoming an active part of the image. This changes the perception depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions.
In my work, I consciously allow space for intuitive processes and material-related reactions. This creates a tension between control and letting go, between structure and organic movement.
