About this artwork
In “Updraft V – Ascension” I explore the moment of transformation – the transition from condensation to movement and dissolution. The flowing layers of light, transparency, and darker forms create a subtle atmosphere between heaviness and lightness, between contained and released energy.
I work intuitively with encaustic painting on metal, allowing the materials to react with one another, resulting in organic structures and spontaneous movements.… During the process, the image develops step by step through the interplay of control and letting go. This work is part of my Updraft series, in which I explore inner movements, energetic states, and processes of change.
