About this artwork
The work brings the look closer to a street in Amsterdam, an emblematic city of modernity. Crossed by canals, it is designed to be traveled by both boat and bicycle. For this reason, the main protagonists of the painting are a bicycle in the foreground and the canal that disappears in the distance. The oil paint brushstrokes capture the nuances of light and shadow, the textures of the architecture and the reflection of the water.
The painting arises… from photographs taken in situ, to create the work in the studio. This piece speaks of stopped movement, of the pause in the daily hustle and bustle, inspiring serenity and connection with the beauty of everyday life, wrapped in an atmosphere of peace and reflection.
