About this artwork
In my work I wanted to capture the essence of the impressive Tianmen Mountain Road in China, also known as the Highway to Heaven. The drawing represents the winding route that leads to the famous Gate of Heaven.
When creating this work I wanted to convey the majesty of one of the most beautiful and unusual routes in the world. I used detailed shadows and textures to reflect the sharp curves and towering cliffs, evoking both the natural beauty and… the human effort behind the complex architectural construction.
With the serenity of gray tones and meticulous attention to detail I invite the viewer to reflect on our own path in life and embark on a visual journey that symbolizes overcoming obstacles and seeking heights, both physical and spiritual.
