About this artwork
The stone I chose for this sculpture was quarried in the in Utah. The coloration of the stone came from a region where large rock formations became part of the landscape. Many of these rock formations varied in color and intensity.
This particular alabaster stone has a rich vibrant color with translucent properties. As I carved the stone I wanted to give life to the color and translucencies. I also wanted it to have a feeling of movement and lightness.…
