About this artwork
I am always looking for new stone to sculpt, so on a visit to my local importer I came across this stone.
It was a hard marble with interesting colorations. The shape of the stone was rectangular. After studying it some ideas emerged. Then the creative process began. I wanted something that would relate to movement and have a lightness to this hard stone. As I worked it began to evolve. Adding some negative space, the movement developed.
The final… result was “Le Danse”
