About this artwork
Watercolors are back! This artwork is painted on Arches 555 LB watercolor paper. Its literally the strongest archival paper out there...the best!
Every year on my birthday I create a contemplative work based on my perception of age at that particular point. This year it seems I've moved farther towards a deeper connection to Mother Earth AND a focus on the present. After all, we all work so hard to build a future that that we tend to miss the… actual present. We think we have time, but time is relative and all time is now. The future isn't written and the past is gone forever. Now is all we have, so enjoy it.
« Either way, my message for the viewer is simple. Enjoy my work for its visual elements. Experience the excitement of the micro, macro, and then the subliminal. Rinse and repeat. »
Jon Parlangeli is a passionate American painter and sculptor who has widely exhibited his work throughout the U.S. Fascinated by the process of creation, he composes works that experiment with color and the physicality of paint. Parlangeli's creations stand out for their depth and tactility, appearing as explosions of bright color and unexpected shapes. Parlangeli additionally includes a representational balance of nature and humanity in his work, that merges with abstract elements to create a kind of historic bibliophile hidden in the paint.
