About this artwork
Contemplative and reflective expression of oneself. The fragility of life is expressed through the wiring of this portrait and the voids that contract and deconstruct the piece. Molded with a structure of the face and the "skin" spirals around the tip of the nose, the beginning of everything. The rest of the face turns and little by little it forms the expression of the complete piece. Made with iron wire and papier-mâché.

« Passion and personal concern are the two concepts that best define my career as an artist. Passion as an invisible force that pushes me forward and personal restlessness to try new things and constantly improve. »
Juan Isasa, a sculptor who resides in Spain, has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in China, Indonesia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The two sources for his inspiration are the animal kingdom and the human face. Both demographics allow Isasa to combine beauty and complexity while celebrating and expressing diversity. He creates using stone, textiles, resin, cast iron, aluminium, and acrylics.
