About this artwork
The SEAngles are based on details from the large SEAmaps that have been transformed and placed in new contexts. Each SEAngle is unique: a collage of photos, foam, fabric, paper cut, found objects, mixed media and acrylic. All SEAngles are also available in handmade frames (40 x 40 cm / black or white).

In the SEAmaps, Schäfer's love of the sea, her collection of old land and sea maps, her fascination for ships, containers and ports are combined with her love of travel and the joy of "getting lost" - in foreign places, past times, somewhere between cities, countries, islands and oceans.
