The light-heartedness of childhood, depicted in the girl picking flowers, is the starting point for this picture. The child, with great concentration, picks a flowering stalk from the lush meadow.
As a young girl, which forms the center of the picture, she looks openly into the world.Slightly hidden by the flower stalks, she is holding a magnificent bouquet of meadow… flowers as a woman.Combination of a person's age.Past in the present, past in memory - everything exists at the same time.
This is also symbolized by the dandelion.
It ripens on the right side of the picture from the bud to the flower and finally to the infructescence. Its seeds are blown away by the wind, they fly out of the bouquet into the distance. A seed umbrella falls to the left and will take root.
Eternal cycle of growth and decay: Panta rhei.
