Cascade of an extraordinary bouquet of tulips, from which two protrude in pencil, emphasizing the others as it were. A drifting apart of multifaceted flower heads in all directions. Perhaps only a moment tears it apart, for its stalks remain hidden. A tremendous power seems to give them movement.
In addition to a variety of pink and red tones, there are also yellow and orange in the foreground and on the right. A tint of blue and violet is reserved… for the center and left third.
As a contrast to the fireworks of colour, a tulip stalk has been drawn from the bottom right into the middle of the picture in a purely graphic representation. This dynamic stalk carries two blossoms, one of which reveals its innermost being. The foliage is woven into the frenzy of colour.
The triad of these tulips is complemented by a third blossom, which - inclined downwards - already indicates vanitas.
Even the fiery frenzy of color must fall prey to her...
« Vanitas resonates in the allegria about the beauty of creation. This calls for striving to preserve the unique creation with gratitude and humility! »
Karin Steffek-Moravia has received major international awards and attracted considerable attention with her exhibitions worldwide. In addition to exploring socio-political issues, particularly environmental protection, she creates "hymns to the beauty of creation" with her transparent, watercolor-based pencil and colored pencil drawings. Steffek-Moravia also skillfully explores spiritual and mystical themes, blending yesterday and today into a compelling harmony.
