About this artwork
I was attracted by the relative smartness of this door which clearly leads to more than one venture within. The brass plate suggests professional inhabitants, but the shapes of the ironwork are in many ways the most interesting thing about the door. Electrical supply in Venice clearly can't go underground so it's very evident, draped across the top of the door. While we 'earth dwellers' might think that unsightly if it happened in our terrestrial…
