About this artwork
I do not consider myself a painter in the traditional sense. I am an artist who works with
painting as a language I continuously question and re-invent. It is a language I am not always
confident in, and for that reason it remains alive. The canvas becomes a space of articulation
where I can speak about the present without words, free from external censorship, but not
from my own doubts and decisions. In a time saturated with digital images, speed,… and
control, painting allows me to work with uncertainty and resistance. I approach it as a site of
presence rather than representation. Each work emerges as an event: a trace of gesture,
color, and embodied thought. Meaning is not resolved but held open, allowing painting to
remain a fragile record of being present.
