About this artwork
In this painting there are four symbolic elements that, when combined, express the meaning of the representation: on the right, the red apse symbolizes man, where the open window with the black interior represents the interiority of our being; at the bottom there is the stone bas-relief, the stele, with the image of an ancient lighthouse (LUX) and at its side the Muse Electra who points the lighthouse to the viewer, to tell us that on the path of… life we must always follow "the light", while the portico with nine arches on the right symbolizes the time we are allowed to live, and the calm sea in the background represents the achievement of peace.
Luciano Vannoni is a painter and graduate of the Liceo Artistico Mengaroni, with a multifaceted background in drawing, ceramics, sculpture, and painting, and an expert in oil painting. He employs a meticulous and refined technique, inspired by the metaphysical style of De Chirico, recreating previously unseen sketches with almost scribe-like precision and a profound chromatic alchemy. His works evoke a different, highly introspective reality, inviting the viewer to rediscover the mystery and wonder hidden within the ordinary.
