Dito lamp represents a succulent plant rising from the edges of a pot.
The plant, through the use of fuchsia (nail polish), changes its nature by simultaneously becoming a finger pointing upwards.
A finger? Which finger? It could be a thumb, a middle finger, or an index finger: each of these fingers takes on a different meaning, and the choice to… see one rather than another is up to the viewer. The figurative nature of the subject speaks to the theme of resilience, the ability to flourish even in the most arid conditions.
The roots that hold us firmly to the ground are the foundation for reaching upwards.
