About this artwork
A sculpture made from a single piece of solid ash.
An imaginary script, an ideogram. A highly graphic piece, written more than drawn, spontaneously, impulsively. The lines are intertwined, the imaginary letters interlock.
Once sculpted, this piece was flame-fired. A very vertical piece, its energy surges forth, dynamic. Its black, highly textured surface catches the light and gives it a raw sensuality.
It is presented on a very simple black… lacquered steel base.
